We aim to maintain an up-to-date COVID Protection Policy that is aligned with the latest government requirements and industry advice. For further information and reference to the current requirements please see COVID-19 Government website and Ihi Aotearoa | Sports New Zealand website.
For the safety of our community and as per government requirements, this policy outlines the Kumarani Production Trust rules, recommendations, and precautions for community circus during RED and ORANGE traffic light settings.
DO NOT ATTEND if you are sick or have been advised you are a close contact.
We are following the guidelines for ‘Social Sports’ which are deemed a gathering and able to run without Vaccine Passes with appropriate social distancing (1.5m).
Although we do not require students to have a My Vaccine Pass, our instructors are vaccinated.
Contact tracing, social distancing and regular cleaning/personal hygine are our main protective proceedures. If we are notified of a case/close contact event in any class, we will shift all classes online immediately.
CONTACT TRACING
All parents and students with phones are recommended to scan in using the venue QR code. Everyone MUST sign in with the paper sheet.
Kumarani staff will document class attendance for contact tracing
All Students MUST have an enrollment form filled out
PERSONAL HYGIENE
Please wash/sanitize hands before and after class. NO kai (food) during the programme, please bring a *named* drink bottle for water.
CLEANING
Circus gear and surfaces will be cleaned before, after and between sessions. We ask that all used props go into the designated box to be cleaned, and that you do not share used props with others.
If students wish to use the same prop across the class, they can place it to the side in a personal storage spot for the session.
SOCIAL DISTANCING
At RED our activities will be designed to keep 1.5m distance between students whenever possible, with a focus on object manipulation this term.
MASK WEARING
During RED - Masks are recommended to be kept on for ages 10 and up throughout the class. We encourage regular breathing breaks, and they can be removed when students are socially distanced and exercising eg when practicing higher risk skills such as globe balancing
During ORANGE - Masks are recommended for ages 10 and up at any point social distancing cannot be maintained e.g. on pick up / drop off.
